We are closing in on our time left in Spring Valley, WI, but we have had two very productive biking and geo-caching days, since I last wrote.  The weather has cooperated, also, and we are noticing the Sumac are getting much more red in color than when we arrived.  Fall is in the air.
Yesterday, we biked the Yellowstone Trail and parked in Woodville.   It is a very quaint small town with a Norwegian heritage.  I felt right at home!  There were geo-caches along the trail and it made for a wonderful day.  The trail is packed limestone and was in excellent condition. It was very similar to the Mountain Bay Trail that runs from Wausau to Green Bay.  We aren't seeing any deer yet, which surprises us, in all these woods here. We came home tired last night, so I didn't add anything to the blog.  We knew we were going out again today, and headed to Menomonie, WI.  I know we will be back here, as we were so impressed with that 'little city'.  It is home to UW-Stout, and they are very bike friendly! We biked the Menomonie Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail, and we felt like we were on the Autobahn! It was paved, and our bikes just glided over the nice, smooth pavement! (We did have a few huff and puff areas, because this is a hilly region).  They really planned well, when they put this bike trail in the area.  We thought we would be in the city, but it was mostly rural.  Sad to say, we didn't see many bikers or walkers, either.   I don't think we ever spent any time in Menonomie, but it's a beautiful city.  We move tomorrow to Ashby, MN.

These are the banners that they fly on the light poles in Woodville.

We had one tunnel on the Yellowstone Trail, and the highway ran overhead.

This is a view across Menomin Lake, as it looks to the downtown area.

We had to cross the river on this bike path bridge, and the interstate is to our left.  Amazing!
