Hello friends and family!

Yes, we left our 'homey shed' (Eagle's Landing) in Wittenberg, WI on Wednesday, of this week!  We have been so busy, that we haven't had time to get the blog going, and decided that we had better get started!  Being retired isn't easy!  We traveled to Spring Valley, WI and are staying at a Corps of Engineer park for a few days.  Of course, geo-caching has been keeping us busy!  We even had a surprise visit our first night in, and welcomed seeing our good friends, Larry and Sharon Hoff.  They knew we were heading their way, and they were in Menomonie, so they popped in.  We met Larry and Sharon at a polkafest in Chippewa many years ago.
Our trip will take us three months to get to our park in Apache Junction, and we will be visiting Minnesota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.  I will be sending you the website in another e-mail, and if you want to follow us, you need to keep the website and just click on it 'when you have time' or delete it if you aren't interested.  This is the best way for us to keep in touch with our family, and all of our friends, when we are on the road.
I'll post a couple of pictures here, and will bring you up to date as we traverse across the country.
We hope all is good with everyone, and you are out of harm's way.  We have a lot going on in the country right now with hurricanes and wildfires.  We are hopefully, staying out of those areas, but we always remain flexible, as we travel to compensate any changes in the weather.
Stay tuned........

We went from this to this, to this:

We had a rainbow the night before we left on our trip, so we thought that was a good omen!  Look carefully, to the right of our dwelling to see it.  Then the next one is in the Highland Ridge Campground in Spring Valley.  It's quite rustic and primitive, but we like it here.  This is our first time of staying here, and today we hope to ride the bike path near us.....and geo-cache.

We had to chuckle at this road sign.  It is true!  We drove down this very narrow road to the dam and reservoir area for the Eau Galle Lake region.  It is an earthen dam that was built from 1965-1968 for flood control in the Spring Valley area by the Corps of Engineers.

We had to get a picture of Larry and Sharon Hoff, our first visitors on our trip!  It was so nice catching up with them.  They are very special friends!
